THE KAREN BEASLEY SEA TURTLE RESCUE AND REHABILITATION CENTER in Topsail Island, North Carolina, is a sea turtle sanctuary committed to the care & release of sick and injured sea turtles. It is a 501c3 nonprofit organization staffed entirely by volunteers. Jean Beasley, the Executive Director (known affectionately as “Miss Jean” to the Aqua Kids), was named Animal Planet’s 2007 Hero of the Year!
