Hello,
my name is Lydia, and my son Jesse is 4 years old and he has
autism. Jesse loves water, and one of his favorite animals is
the humpback whale. My son cannot speak but his reaction to
water is very strong. I just wanted to let you know how much we
enjoy the show. It's so nice to watch my son when your show is
on, he gets so excited. We both are looking forward to watching
more shows.
Thank you....

Hello Aqua
Kids,
My name is Grant Adams
and I am from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. My daddy is helping me so I
can send you this email. We were just in Florida for Thanksgiving
and rented a boat to go on the Inner-Coastal Waterway, and while we
were out I got to see my first Manatee. Thank you for trying to keep
them safe. This is a picture of my dad and I on the Inner-Coastal
Waterway. I really like the Aqua Kids show and I will be watching.
Thank you,

RESPONSE FROM ANDY ***
Hi Korey,
It is great that you have
a love of the ocean and marine life at such a young age, and thank
you for watching our show. I myself began snorkeling at age 4 and
saw my first shark at age 5 while in the Florida Keys with my dad. I
was hooked from that moment and it has led me to a wonderful career
working with marine life. My advice is just follow your passion and
opportunities will come up.
I do not know of any
marine life programs in Wilkes-Barre, but there are some great
aquariums that are quite close. The Pittsburgh Zoo has a great
aquarium and there is the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. If you
are ever south, the National Aquariums in Baltimore and Washington
are also great places to learn about marine science. Many aquariums
have kids programs that you can get involved in. Once you reach high
school and college, opportunities such as volunteer positions and
internships become available.
Another great place to
learn is the public library. They always have great books on marine
life such as sharks, whales, fish, etc. And there are so many great
animal shows on television. The internet can be a good place for
information as well, but be careful because not all things on the
internet are true. Books and magazine articles are checked for
correct information but many web sites are not.
And most importantly,
keep your interest in exploring and learning. The local ponds,
streams and rivers are full of aquatic life like turtles, frogs, and
fish that are all very interesting to learn about and observe.
Thanks so much for your
interest in our show. Whenever we film Aqua Kids we always get local
kids involved, so if we are ever in the Wilkes-Barre area we will
let you know.
